So my first venture into deepest darkest Wales resulted in a great experience! Since Lee Byrne dived over Phil Godman and got him sent off in the game in Cardiff I have tried to avoid Welsh folks. But a combination of Rhod Gilbert and the shear beauty of the Harbour Master Hotel on the Welsh Tourist Board’s TV advert encouraged me back over the Severn. So as a little treat away I surprised my good lady with a 3hr drive across the Brecon Beacons to the lovely Harbour town of Aberaeron. We stayed at the famous Harbour Master Hotel in the Madona Suite at the very top of the building; the room had amazing views of the Sea and Harbour! The hotel is recommended by the Mr & Mrs Smith group and I have to say I can see why. The food was good, the wine even better; and the room was so lovely that I struggled to get my good lady to leave and come back to the Cotswolds!
We didn’t do a lot else in the area, there wasn’t a need to! Once we opened up the shutters of the room we could see the sea rolling in. Shear Bliss! If you get a chance make sure you take a visit!
