FC Barcelona & Intel explore new sponsorship

A clever peace of Social/PR marketing or a waste of money? In a first for sports sponsorship, Intel have spent $25Million to place their logo in the inside of Barcelona’s football shirt.

It’s a clever ploy, being that Intel’s slogan is “always inside”, however outside of some PR and perhaps the odd “shirt over face” goal scoring moment, I’m not sure how it will reward the investment.

I hope I’m wrong and it’s a huge success as it’s very very clever.

Cool ‘Game of Thrones’ Word of Mouth stunt

Thrones skull

Ive seen some big PR stunts before, but this one has to be one of the largest. To mark the start of the third series of fantasy epic, Game of Thrones, the makers cleverly installed this 40ft dragon’s skull at Charmouth beach on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

The dog walker clearly think that massive dragon skulls are a daily occurrence. Either that or they need to get to Specsavers…

Cheltenham Special: Paddy Power PR Stunt

As its the Cheltenham Festival this week, I’d thought I’d post this great PR stunt from Paddy Power.

You may remember last year they did the Paddy Power  “Hollywood sign” on Cleeve Hill over looking the racecourse. That was truely epic and was always going to be tough to better; but they certainly tried by putting a Jockey on the famous Uffington White Horse in Oxfordshire.

This cheeky Word of Mouth stunt really works! It grabs your attention and gets people talking due to a number of factors; the risks (they didnt get permission), the Irish humour and the grand scale of the project. I cant wait till next year’s stunt!

Let me know what you think?
